Cathedral Trip for Team 1/2

The Junior School trip to the Cathedral will go ahead.  The picnic to the gardens is cancelled.  bus helpers are still required.  Walking helpers are not needed but are welcome to join classes at the cathedral.

Avonhead Community Trust Oscar Approved Holiday Programme. January 24 – 28, 2011. The programme still has some places for children in years 1-4 (only) in 2011. Team 3-4 athletics are scheduled to start at 9.20am with the 7yr old sprints on the school field.  Other events will begin at 10.00am on Ferrier Park.  Should there be a deterioration in the weather please recheck the blog at a later time.

Team 1-2 Athletics sports commence at 9.25am with the 7year olds sprints on the school field.  Other events will run in the same order on Ferrier Park from 10.15am.

The cat that has been lurking around the school has been taken to the SPCA, if you think it might be yours.  Grey, slight tabby marking, short-hair, sweet cat. Its a female.

Cybersafety Evening

The Westburn School PTA will be sponsoring this event to actively promote cybersafety with our families on Wednesday 28th July at 7pm in the Westburn School Hall. A representative from Netsafe, the Internet Safety Group will speak to parents about the risks children and young people may face using the Web, social networking and cell phones along with things parents can do to keep their children safe. This will be a valuable opportunity for you to learn about internet and cell phone issues and how to possibly address them.

Clip N Climb Night!


Kidsfirst Kindergarten Avonhead are having a fundraising night at Clip N Climb on the last day of term, Friday 2nd July. Tickets are $10 each for everyone from 3yrs old to adults - this is a discounted price, so come along and have some fun! Sessions start at 5pm, 6pm, or 7pm on the night. The kindy appreciates your support.

Avonhead Community Trust have FIVE spaces (Years 1-4 only) available in their Holiday Programme for the 5 – 9 July. This is a “first come, first served” basis. Preference will be given to those enrolling for the full week. Brochures and booking forms are available from the school office or the Trust office at 102 Avonhead Rd or ph Alison Holmes on 348-6742 for more information. (Leave a clear message if unattended). You will need to return your booking form to the Trust office to await confirmation of your place.

Winter sport is on today.
Thank you to all who came to share our exciting new hall opening yesterday.  It went so well and the Prime Minister's presence made it even more special. The hall coped beautifully with the crowds, as it was intended to do!

Lost scooter

A scooter was lost...silver with red handle and lettering 'Razor". Yura Tokuo is written on the handle support as well as the board.

Team 5/6 is off to camp tomorrow...very exciting for them all. Have a safe and wonderful camp.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back to term 1 of the new decade.
Great start so far..everyone is calm and settled in their new classes.  The floor of the new hall has been completed and the walls will start to be constructed tomorrow. You will notice there have been some trees lost..a new planting programme is planned.
Swimming for seniors starts Wed.
Invoices will be sent out from next week.
